Tout lieu investi par l’humain le conduit à occuper l’espace en associant dans sa manière de faire son imaginaire d’un lieu et la réalité du territoire auquel il se confronte et où il expérimente des modes d’existence. Nous vous proposons d’élaborer une question de recherche prenant en compte ce mouvement dialectique entre projection/vision idéale et expérience de la réalité et de mener l’enquête sur le terrain du plateau de Saclay, objet d’étude dans le cadre de workshop depuis 4 années. Il s’agit d’aller à la rencontre de divers acteurs et de porter à la connaissance de vos paris et encadrants des éléments d’analyse relevant d’une réflexion et proposition de designer.

Chaque année, un thème est proposé à partir duquel la recherche flash va s’organiser sur toute la durée du workshop.

Pour cette édition, nous vous invitons à interroger “le plateau de Saclay idéal “ en ce que cette forme absolue et complète de la pensée d’une situation ou d’un objet  permet d’appréhender  la réalité vécue au quotidien par les acteurs du site et les habitants, mais aussi la construire ou la dé-construire.

Une première présentation de cette idée pourrait s’exprimer ainsi : nous formulons l’hypothèse qu’une hybridation existe (se lit dans les réalisations) entre version idéale et réalité que suscite et engendre le plateau de Saclay. Ce workshop aura alors pour premier objectif de valider cette hypothèse et d’en révéler des catégories.

Cette mise à jour respectera aussi un second objectif : extraire des propositions en design au plus près des catégories repérées à recueillir auprès des usagers et habitants ; ces propositions en design prendront soin de mettre en valeur la possibilité d’une co-conception des “modes d’existence”( Latour, 2012) à venir intégrant les imaginaires et les éléments des expériences subjectives rapportées dans vos enquêtes.

Il y a donc un postulat : le plateau de Saclay est issu d’une pensée idéale  ( individuelle & collective) de sa conception et de son développement que jusqu’à présent aucune recherche n’a nommés et dont aucune action humaine ne s’est servi lors des phases successives de son aménagement encore en cours.

Any place occupied by humans leads them to occupy the space by combining their imagination of a place with the reality of the territory they encounter and where they experience ways of life. We invite you to develop a research question that takes into account this dialectical movement between projection/ideal vision and experience of reality, and to conduct field research on the Saclay plateau, which has been the subject of study in workshops for the past four years. The aim is to meet with various stakeholders and share with your peers and supervisors elements of analysis based on a designer’s reflection and proposal.

Each year, a theme is proposed, around which the flash research will be organised throughout the workshop.

For this edition, we invite you to examine ‘the ideal Saclay plateau’ in that this absolute and complete form of thinking about a situation or an object allows us to understand the reality experienced on a daily basis by the site’s stakeholders and residents, but also to construct or deconstruct it.

An initial presentation of this idea could be expressed as follows: we hypothesise that there is a hybridisation (evident in the achievements) between the ideal version and the reality that the Saclay plateau inspires and engenders. The primary objective of this workshop will therefore be to validate this hypothesis and reveal its categories.

This update will also fulfil a second objective: to extract design proposals that are as close as possible to the categories identified among users and residents; these design proposals will highlight the possibility of co-designing future ‘modes of existence’ (Latour, 2012) that integrate the imaginations and elements of subjective experiences reported in your surveys.

There is therefore a postulate: the Saclay plateau is the result of an idealised conception (individual and collective) of its design and development that no research has yet identified and that no human action has used in the successive phases of its ongoing development.
